Faces of the 2023 Skipjack Festival

The annual Skipjack Festival doesn't magically happen each year. It takes a large part of the community to organize, plan, coordinate, and host the largest event on Deal Island. Below are a smattering of Lion's Club members, community volunteers, participants, and vendors who made the 2023 festival another successful fundraiser. 

 Proceeds from the festival are given back to the Deal Island community in many ways including including support of our community's seniors and youth via various activities and events, support of Deal Island School and its students and staff and support of individuals and families, dealing with a health crisis. One recipient of money raised this year is to support the medical needs and recovery of local waterman Chase Benton, who suffered a brain aneurism in late July.
